Every year we invite applications from welfare organisations and community groups supporting disadvantaged young Irish people in the UK. Over the years we have awarded more than £6 million in grants.
We are excited to announced that our grant applications for 2026 are now open. The closing date for application submissions is Friday 31st July.

Grants are awarded for one year only and it is possible to apply again the following year.
To qualify your project will be in one of these areas:
- Training/counselling
- Mental & physical health and wellbeing
- Rehabilitation for substance/alcohol abuse
- Advice/advocacy
- Family support
- Homelessness
- Educational, cultural & social activities
- Cross-community initiatives
- Travellers support
- Disability services & support
Applications will only be considered for projects supporting under 25s in Northern Ireland or under 30s in England, Scotland and Wales.
Please note that we do not accept applications that are;
- Submitted beyond the deadline
- Other unsolicited requests for funding outside of the annual programme
- Multiple applications from a single organisation
Grant categories
England, Scotland and Wales
- Small grants up to £3,000
- Standard grants of over £3,000 up to £10,000
Northern Ireland
Applications can be made up to £10,000, however grants are usually awarded in the region of £5,000

We DO NOT provide funding for;
General appeals/large charities
Academic research
Alleviating deficits
Replacing loss of statutory funding
Capital bids
Overseas travel
Individuals (except for university students applying under the Lawlor Education Grants Programme)
