A Charity Camino 2021

We are delighted to announce that IYF (UK) has been chosen as the charity of choice for two dedicated pilgrims and long-standing friends of ours as they take on the historic 100 kilometres of the Camino de Santiago.

Already counting down the kilometres since Tuesday, Nancy and Triona Hickey are steadily making their way across rural Spain in aid of the IYF (UK). We are very grateful to them both for generously offering to fundraise for us on this long and sacred pilgrimage.

Over the next few days, we invite you to show your support to Nancy and Triona as they make this historic pilgrimage by donating and leaving warm wishes in the comments section below.

El Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), is a network of pilgrims' ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the Apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in North-Western Spain, where tradition holds that the remains of the Apostle are buried.

The pilgrimage dates back to the 9th Century and has since become a recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 100 kilometres from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela traverses the beautiful hilly landscapes of Galicia.

We wish Nancy and Triona all the best and look forward to sharing more about their pilgrimage when they reach the final stage this weekend.
